Legal Options for Homeschooling in Wyoming
Option 1: Homeschool Under State Statute
Parents may operate a home-based education program by providing a sequentially progressive curriculum. The instruction must cover the fundamentals of:
- Reading
- Writing
- Mathematics
- Civics
- History
- Literature
- Science
Withdrawing from public school: If your child is currently enrolled in a public school, you should submit a written notice of withdrawal to the school when you begin homeschooling.
Option 2: Homeschool Through a Religious School
You may homeschool as part of a parochial, church, or religious school. To use this option, your home education program must be under the auspices or control of a local church, denomination, or similar religious organization that allows you to teach your child at home.
